duck
Late last night (after what I'll call a pre-production meeting with Matt getting set for a weekend of ohmy! filming) I did my civic duty for the day by rescuing a sitting duck. Yep, a duck. It was sitting right in the middle of the road by the river in Mount Pleasant.
The exercise involved a blanket, some gentle persuasion and a very soaked jacket (it was raining at the time) but I eventually moved the pretty unexcitable duck from the middle of the road over to the riverbank. Where is sat just as bored-looking as it did on the road.
So, yeah. It was a weird night.
Update: Continuing the Animal Hospital theme, out the back of the office tonight I stumbled across am uuuugh-ly redback spider. It ran in behind a ledge when I walked past, so I went inside looking for spider-killing things. We didn't have any insect spray stuff, so I used lavendar air freshener instead. I figure even if it's still alive, we should be able to smell it coming.

Actually, continuing the theme even more, I saw About a Boy on Saturday night, which also has a duck at one kinda pivotal point. Weirdness.

You know, merely the fact that you guys have spiders bigger than my entire hand is exactly why I'm never moving to/visiting Australia. Sure it's beautiful, but no, I'll stick with viewing your photos, and watching the Travel channel.
