simon is a loser
Despite my disturbing addiction to drinks of the Coca-Cola variety, I have yet to actually win anything from a Coke bottle. And this study in statistics had a pretty huge sample space. But since this is the modern world, and Coke is an American company, I feel it's only fair to blame someone else.
My theory is that it all stems back to the Mars free bars promo from a couple of years back — you know, the one with the guy on the train station platform. After ripping open the mars bar, in what would probably be a heady chocolate-fuelled giddy spell, he throws away the wrapper with 'Free Bar' written in big, festive, chocolate-smudged letters on the inside. Then some other schmuck picks it out of the bin (hello?) and scores the free bar.
The name of the nice guy who thoughtfully disposed of the litter in a bin?

Update: It appears both Dave and Matt have since won a free Coke under a lid, though Matt's victory is not entirely truthful. He stole the winning lid from his sister Rachel...
