the cube goes on holiday

Now in my random photo-taking journeys around Perth, I've ended up in plenty of weird conversations with people who stop to work out exactly what I'm doing. This morning was more of the same.

The cube goes on holidays, and picks up a hitch-hiker

We're taking holidays at work over Christmas, and we figure it'd be polite to remind our clients of the dates we're leaving and heading back. So hey, I figure, why not take our logo to the beach?

I had planned to take the photos last night, but after a killer 39-degree day we ended up with serious cloud cover, so I canned it and headed down to Cottesloe at 6.30 this morning.

Sitting hunched over in the sand near the Indiana Teahouse, trying not to cast a shadow over the photo (the sun's behind me — the other reason I wasn't keen on an evening shoot), and taking photos of a 20cm bright blue square.

I can see how this might look strange.

I think it's very pretty. The photos and the beach, I mean. I can't wait to get to the beach when I'm back in Perth. Not that I ever went to the beach much when I lived there, but still.

I miss that beach so much. I miss the lavash bread at the tea rooms. I miss all the wanker yuppy posuers in their speedos and their brazillian waxes.

Man I miss it so much.
