rock is for newbies
I keep saying that one day I'll go back to the US for a while (having spent a year in LA as a kid) and I will do it. This story, via kottke's excellent sidebar, makes me want to practice up first. Some highlights:"There's a science to it," he said, adding that he honed his skills settling childhood fights with siblings over who had to mow the lawn. "Everyone here's pretty much not as smart as I am."
"Whenever you see a tense muscle, they're going Rock. If they look relaxed, it's going to be Paper."
Still, neither contestant seemed fazed. Johnson, who had studied his opponent's moves intently, noted simply, "she's all Rock."
It's pretty safe to say that only in America could you win $1,000 playing Rock Scissors Paper. And even then, only in San Francisco.
