One of the happy side-effects of forcing my Coolpix to shoot at fast shutterspeeds at night is that when you bring the levels back up in Photoshop you get some nice "grain" coming through. This one's another shot from Thursday night, this time outside the Astor, just a few doors up from the Velvet Lounge.
In other news, I've added an RSS feed for shootfirst, if you happen to be into the whole newsreader thing. I'm also adding a few new photos each week (hence the feed), so check back every once in a while. I've also added in next and previous links to each photo, as previously suggested by Dan.
There's a weird trend I've noticed lately, with a bunch of my photos being taken by the coast. Weird in that I live a bit of a drive in from the coast, and about 30 minutes from Trigg, where most of them are shot. Why? Trigg is right near my parent's place, and I usually visit on a Sunday, which seems to be prime-time for trigger happy Si.

everytime i look at shootfirst, i am left in awe of the design, then the quality of the photographs and then the manipulation of the various movabletype plugins and features.
i've been trying to set up a damn photo log for ages now, but the paginate and archive plugins are my downfall everytime.
ps: the draft layout was completed in january, but i couldnt get paginate to work for me. then you released shootfirst to the world and i wanted to kill you - talk about almost identical layout. i had three by four, and slightly larger images and a different shade of grey, but apart from that - fucking identical. now i have to start from scratch.
damn creative genius's getting in there first.
love your work.

My inspiration for shootfirst was Dawn's stunning Chicago Uncommon, which kept bugging me until I finally knuckled down and finished up the shootfirst site.
Getting it to work with MT was actually quite simple, especially once I found the MTPaginate plugin (tip: use max_sections="n").
Can't wait to check out your photos!
