party games, round two
Cleaning out the office this week I found the words from that Balderdash game a few months ago.
This time around: what is a Zwicky Galaxy?
- Galaxies that recede at about the same speed.
- Discovered in 1953 by Alexander Zwicky.
- A galaxy discovered by Ron Zwicky, now-famous astronomer
- The home space of the Zwicks, a fabled species of card-playing green geeks.
- The seventh galaxy from the planet Uranus in which Zwicky probes were sent forth in the third milennium of the moonsons.
- The stars and socialites that were involved in the party culture surrounding Adrian Zwicky in Switzerland in the 60's. Also known as Zwickians
- The galaxy nearest the Querty galaxy
- CIA code name given to George Bush administration
- The original name for the galaxy in which Earth resides. The marketing department turned it down in favour of "The Milky Way"

Balderdash is one of the best games ever! So I'm dying to know...what was the real answer? Is Zwicky Galaxy truly "the original name for the galaxy in which Earth resides"?

The Zwicky Galaxies are catalogued in the Zwicky Catalogue of Galaxies and Clusters of Galaxies by my father, Fritz Zwicky. It is also known as The Red Book.
Sorry, I have never heard of Ron, nor is he a member of our family.
Best wishes,
Dr. Barbarina Zwicky,h.c.
