I heart Fed Square
I made it into Federation Square yesterday afternoon, and spent a while wandering around ACMI's Screen Gallery, which is amazing. I'm going to check out the NGV another day, and I see there's a design thing on at the Museum (why do I always miss the really good exhibitions?)
Anyway, Fed Square. Swoon.

Fed Square's all about texture, materials and the play of the surfaces and designs. I could spend whole days just wandering around there. Conveniently I also have many days left in Melbourne.
Before someone gets all crazy at me taking more abstract photos (no blades of grass yet tho) I promise I'll take more photos of all the funky streets and crazy cafes soon.

Isn't it gorgeous? And to think the people of melbourne labelled it a hideous eyesore. Heathens.
It's my favourite city place to take photos. Second is all those tiny laneways zigzagging through the main shopping precinct.

How about taking some pics of Melbourne people. I mean, do they look like us? Or are they hipper versions of Perth people? I remember seeing a girl who had arrived from Melbourne at the airport and she was wearing fluro pink socks with white stilletos. I remember thinking, wow, hooker!
Anyway, more pics, more pics, more pics, more pics.

I'd say they're kinda hipper versions of Perth people. Maybe -- investigation continues today. They have the advantage that cold weather means funky coats, the kind of coat that would only get worn once or twice a year in Perth.
Also: surprisingly little all-black to be seen. Where have all the designers gone? ;]
