Energy

I'm so incredibly tired. Another long weekend at work gone and our new project's almost ready for launch (hope you like orange!).

Pencil

Have I ever mentioned that I'm easily distracted by things on my desk at work?

I shouldn't be at work

I've been feeling a little snowed under at work and haven't posted for a few days. Here's two more photos from Araluen to make up for it (and to prove I wasn't kidding about taking heaps of photos last Sunday).

In other news, my trusty old B&O stereo (a Beomaster 4000 if you're into numbers) made a nasty popping sound when I turned it on the other night. It seemed to work okay afterwards but it's in being checked out by people qualified to make tutting noises while looking it over, just to make sure.

It'll be turning 30 years old next year so I'm hoping there's nothing seriously wrong. I love my old stereo!

Think happy Danish stereo thoughts for me.

Denial

I swear it was all warm and sunny just the other day. Now it's 16°c and rainy. So here's a photo of a warm, sunny-type flower from Sunday.

Tulips

It seems a little strange to start a collection of photos from Araluen without mentioning tulips. So here we go: tulips.

I'm also led to believe that someone (who won't be named) was heard calling "show us your tulips!" from the scenic 'railway' tour around the park.

I can't vouch for this -- I was sitting by the bridge in the sun at the time. Anyone?

Spring

I spent most of today meandering around Araluen for a birthday pic-a-nic (happy birthday, Carissa!). There's plenty of flowers to take photos of so I entertained myself for a while in between soaking up the warm afternoon sun.

Roll on spring!

Somersault

Somersault flyer

I managed to catch a preview of Cate Shortland's debut feature Somersault at the Luna the other night, and it's definitely worth checking out if you get a chance.

Everyone's raving (and with good reason) about Abbie Cornish's performance as Heidi, and Sam Worthington is great as Joe (Trivia Thursday! K was Sam Worthington's peer support at high school). But you can read about serious things like performances and direction from more credible sources than me, so I'll move on.

More Urban

I may have weirded out a few old couples out for a walk last night while I sat taking photos of graffiti on a bridge. I like to do my bit for 'kids these days'

Urban

I've been lazy lately and haven't taken many photos, so I went out for a wander tonight and took a few photos at dusk. These two are from the pedestrian bridge over the Mitchell Freeway somewhere between Warwick and Hepburn.

Foxy? No.

I'd write some funny stories about the weekend, but I'm still recovering from Friday night, wherein Matt, Len and I waited for (a) the RAC man; and (b) an RAC tow truck; to come inspect and haul away (respectively) the suddenly lifeless Pulsar that Matt and I had been driving through North Perth.

Sadly no camera was present, since it was meant to be a short trip across town, but thankfully we had my iPod to pass the time. So instead here's a photo of possibly the least likely business name I've seen in recent history (but then this business clearly hasn't existed in recent memory, judging from the old-school phone number).

One last post about Melbourne

Okay, so I think I've bored everyone I know with stories of how cool Melbourne was. So here's a short list of why I dug it, in the hope that I'll shut up and start talking about something else.

One more from the plane

I'll write more later. Right now I'm tired after three days back at work and need sleep.

Photo: somewhere over Australia, my guess is somewhere near Esperence.
