Flashing

Memo to fellow gig-goers: if you're taking photos at gigs, don't use a flash. It kills the ambience and your photos will look crap. If you don't know how to turn the flash off, you probably shouldn't be taking photos at gigs in the first place.

Whew.

Sorry, I had to get that out.

By the way, that's Fourth Floor Collapse launching their Godspeed EP at Mojo's a few weeks back... they've just finished a national tour but if you ever get a chance to check them out live, do it. They're amazing live.

I'd have better shots of them but I was enjoying the gig too much to actually take photos.

It's nice to know there's somebody out there that shares a pet peeve of mine!

Sometimes if I accidentally move the camera, I get an image looking somewhat like a blurred lightning-struck picture.

It's a pet peeve of mine too. I've noticed more and more folks at gigs with cameras now, flashing away. It is distracting, and like you say, the picture will probably turn out crap anyway.

Occasionally i'm guilty of taking flash shots at a show if the lighting is particularly low. But i'd only do it a few times and the pics usually turn out bad anyway.
