The last few days have been a little crazy. More on that later.
In the meantime, here's an Australian Darter that seemed reasonably happy to model for me by the river in South Perth today.
Mental note: must get a bigger zoom lens for the camera so I can take such photos without lying stretched out on my stomach a few feet from something that can peck out my eyes.

I'd forgotten how much fun it was to take photos using a camera with an actual, real shutter. I have a feeling that I'm grinning like a fool every time I take a photo and hear the click-click.
Update: Thought that photo looked familiar? Flash back to July 2003. I think my photo subjects are looping.

A few weeks back a small gang of us got together to watch Sin City at the movies (it's great, worth checking out on the big screen). We were at the super-mega-plex at Innaloo, where they've got little LED screens above the door of each cinema to tell you what's showing.
Problem is, the screens aren't wide enough for today's overly-descriptive titles. Witness the Sesame Street style genius of:
And okay, so that photo is of the Luna Leederville (where they use old-school signs and chalk) and not the super-mega-plex at Innaloo (home of LED truncation hilarity). Why? Because Luna's much cooler.
