Whew. Much craziness of late. I'm feeling exceptionally lazy (and it is a long weekend) so here's a fragmented bullet list instead of nicely formed, coherent thoughts.
- Much craziness at work. We're putting ourselves through a fairly massive restructure-type-thing (now there's a word I never thought I'd use) which should theoretically make things much more chilled and less stressful come 2006, with the unfortunate downside of things being incredibly stressful right now.
- In potentially related news, I'm finally taking some time off work. For a holiday. To Melbourne. Don't tell me I'm not predictable.
- In further work-related craziness, we're compounding the stress by moving office. We're shifting from the suburban house (converted to a fully decked-out office) that we've been working from for at least five years to some space in the middle of a nice strip of shops, cafes and other businesses (if you need me, I'll be across the road finally understanding why other people like coffee so much)
- I haven't had much of a chance to take photos of late, but this is one I took while messing with manual focus. I love unintentional arty shots.
- Speaking of holidays, I'm planning a fairly extended break late 2006 which will involve meandering around Europe. It promises much hilarity. It also promises to be the longest holiday I've ever had. Long overdue.
- Spring = hayfever. Ugh.

Okay, so the photo doesn't relate to the following post at all. Sue me.
Luke Williams from genius design firm frog design thinks he's worked out why the iPod's design is so often described as "clean." Why? It references materials used in bathrooms.
It makes a lot of sense, but I don't know that I buy into it 100%. But then I also haven't finished reading the article (lunch breaks aren't long enough).

I just noticed I've been posting a lot of photos of bridges lately (and a bridge-like balcony)... What's my subconscious trying to tell me?
So here's one last photo of a bridge. No prizes for guessing that it's the underside of the Narrows.

I've mentioned before that I wake up to CDs on my stereo now -- this morning's selection was Death Cab for Cutie's We Have the Facts and We're Voting Yes. What's weird is that the first song I remember hearing when I woke up was 405. Otherwise known as track five.
Sleeping through four songs - that's a new record (I think that's a sign that I need more sleep).
So that got me thinking... Tell me about your mornings. How you wake up?

Somewhere outside the QV1 office tower in Perth.
It's Friday -- my week went really, really quickly, and I got a lot done at work over the past few weeks (hence the lack of posts here).
How was yours?

I'm a sucker for abstract photos playing with light.

This is an old photo from a trip to Perth Zoo years ago. I discovered it going through one of my old sites and thought it deserved another airing. Anyway, onto the unfinished business.
Last year I'd planned on buying a cd every fortnight, working from A to Z over the course of the year.
For most part, I managed it. I'm still missing albums by bands/artists with names beginning with Q (I'd intended to get a Queen CD but could never choose), Y and Z (had been contemplating Zero7).
Any suggestions?
