Storms over Bondi
Hello Internet. I missed you.
I'm still without net at home. It's a long story.
Rather than go into that painful tale, here's another photo from the storm over Bondi about a month ago now.

Thanks, Krissy! The light was pretty spectacular as the sun set that day.
Incidentally, it's such a letdown when the sun sets over the land and not the sea... that's one of the things I really miss from Perth.

I thought, only here in Spain does it take months to get connected to the communicational devices. I am coming the to conclusion that regardless of however you name it Telstra, Telefonica or Telekom - it is all the same! ...

Hey NZ! The reasons for the lack of net at home is (and I'll give you the executive, high-level need-to-know version here) as follows:
- There is no active phone line connected to our apartment.
- The phone line connection cost is $300, plus the broadband setup fee, plus the modem.
- Our lease runs out in four months and I plan on moving then.
#1 requires #2 and bearing in mind #3, #2 seems excessive, particularly when it's possible I'll pay the same again at the next place.
I tried using a paid-wireless provider (cough) since we actually have one of their out-of-contract modems courtesy of the previous tenants, but for some (probably artificially created) reason you can't use their contract modems for their new prepaid plans. Given what I hear about their reliability and speed, I don't want to sign up for a 12 month contract when I can get nice fast broadband when I move.
So there we are. I'll be living a simple, quaint, net-free homelife for the next few months. Apologies in advance if I don't email often.
(sigh)
